Area Map Wizard

The area map wizard is a new feature that allows you to quickly find the map co-ordinates for places in the database to make them clickable on the map navigation system.

YOU CAN ONLY USE THE WIZARD ONCE YOU HAVE ENTERED A PLACE IN THE DATABASE AND YOU ARE EDITING IT

You will still have to edit the relevant image to add a placename to it, however once these has been done then add the new place as you would normally . Once you have done this edit the new place and you will see a new button appear, (as circled below). Click on Area Map wizard to find the co-ordinates of the new place added to your map.

You can select either a rectangular or circular image map shape. All regions use the circle shape and places the rectangular shape in the database thus far. However you may need to map an akwardly positioned shape. Select the appropriate choice.

The wizard now displays the map with the place you are editing (note if it is the wrong map, you need to enter the correct location of the place in the add place section). Locate the place you wish to edit (the placename is displayed in the "Editing area tag for ****) line, tgether with the shape you have chosen. Follow the instructions and click on the map itself the top left corner of the clickable area you wish to create as in teh example below.

As soon as you click on the map the screen will update. Now click on the map to indicate the bottom right of the clickable area you wish to create as in the example below.

Once you have done this then a page will appear detailing the map tag. Click use area tag and the area is entered into the database

Click Edit when you return to the edit place screen, however this isn't necessary if the area map is all you have changed.
